My name is Debbie Aksamit.  I have been teaching First Grade in Bennington for ten years.  My husband, Steve and I have been married for 30 years.  We have a son who will be starting his junior year at K-State this year. Go Wildcats! I became a teacher because I enjoy working with children and helping them learn.  I want to prepare them with the necessary skills to be life long learners and  responsible citizens wherever they go.

Bennington Grade School’s Mission Statement

To prepare our students with the skills necessary to be life long learners and to be responsible citizens in their community.  We believe the necessary skills include high academics, high self-esteem, and acceptance of responsibility for one’s own actions.  This process involves the whole child and is the responsibility of the parents, teachers and the community as a whole.  The Bennington staff believes that all children can learn and each will achieve his or her own unique potential.
